Wilhelm Duerer fecit 1898 Eisleben Violin
The pictures still tell the best story. The instru
ment is 23 1/4 inch full length, 14 1/4 inch body. Bottom bout 8 1/8 inches, top bout 6 1/2 inch. sides are 1 1/2 inch. The back is very attractive, one piece. there are no cracks or splits. some pearling wear, but minimal for its age. The case is complete, good finish, much better than I normally see for this age, paper hinges and mounts dried out and released. I am not a player, so this is as found, not even cleaned, that is for you to decide what is best. A very solid instrument, well stored.
