    Description

I'm selling this beautiful Mid-Late 1800's American made (E. Babington) violin in a fully restored state. The violin has been professionally set up and will ship slightly out of tune to prevent too much tension on the front plate. The bridge and the sound post are positioned correctly for the North East US region for this season (it may need to be re-adjusted depending on where you are playing it based on moisture, elevation, temp, etc.). It projects wonderfully, with a very warm tone. The color is also a very pleasing nut-brown with very nice figuring on the back, sides, and scroll.
The earliest repair was made by the same person who constructed the violin, E. Babington, the repair was done in 1900 (picture). The violin is dated mid to late 1800's due to the 1900 repair by the same luthier. It looks like this violin was only repaired twice, once by E. Babington and once by myself. The violin is fully blocked and lined. The repairs performed in my shop were: new nut, new tuners, new saddle, new bridge, new chin rest, new endpin, new tailpiece, and a top crack repair.
There is one flaw on the surface of the violin, it looks like some of the purfing came out by the saddle at some point and it was "fixed" with a fully black fill, picture of this flaw in the pictures section.
After the few repairs and setup, the violin is now ready and more than willing to be played.
Please let me know if you would like more pictures, including pictures of the inside. Also, I am willing to create and send a sound file of the violin being played, upon request.
    Thanks for looking!
Package will include violin and case
Lastly, I am a small shop and sadly I do not accept returns
