This Gaetana Del Conte labelled viola has a nice Italian caracter. The amazing two-piece maple back clearly illustrate how distinctive this instrument is, although its finishing touches and its scroll are purely Italian. It has classically carved sound holes, elegant scroll and a patinated oil varnish in a brilliant brown. This instrument is preserved in good condition, has some durable repair inside the viola. This amazing old Italian viola can be recommended because of its superb and powerful deep sound with a warmth, precision and resonant strength that are all marked by an indubitably Italian character. It is now ready to play.
