    Description

I have decided to sell my marimba which was bought in Chicago by my parents in 1949. I played it in many places and events. I hope it can be the answer to a percussionist major's need for a marimba. It is in very good condition considering its age.  Can be played successfully as is.  It has the use signs of a typical vintage instrument, see pictures.  The wooden part which holds the two ends of the frame needs to be tighten.
The marimba can be taken apart and will fit into a normal automobile trunk. The keys were refinished and tuned by John Salazar in Arcata, CA.  in 2010. See invoice in pictures. Feel free to contract me for more information. If you cannot do a local pick it up, I will help you find a way to ship it.
This model is considered the standard for the post-war construction of marimbas by Deagan; it was a short-lived, top-line instrument manufactured between 1946 and 1949.  It re-introduced the use of metal after the ban on its use during World War II.
