ANTIQUE VIOLIN STRING INSTRUMENT & BOW
Purchased at an Estate Sale.  I do not know age, but it seems to be Antique.
Frame that it is displayed on is old wood and has old nails
(I did not get a photo of back, so if you'd like additional photos, please email me). If anyone is able to give me more information, please email me.
Due to its size, I have since removed it from the frame, so Frame is NOT INCLUDED.
Makers Marks:
Cannot locate a Makers Mark other than the letter
"W"
(see photo) on the Neck near the Pegs.  Number stamped on Violin is
S 523
.  Bridge is stamped
"AUBERT".
Bow has some Roman Numerals written on it that look like
"XXXIV"
(see photo).
Measures approximately:
20" long  x  7" wide at bottom  x  1.25" deep  VIOLIN ONLY
24" long  BOW
Weighs approximately:
11 ounces.  Very Light.
Condition:
Violin is old, dusty, and has lost most of its lustre--needs to be cleaned, dusted, and polished.  Two small splits in the wood on front towards bottom (see photo).  Bow hair is missing except for some left on the top of the Bow.  Strings are damaged and need to be tightened.  Some strings are missing.  Bridge of Violin has come off and needs to be re-applied.  Missing Chin Rest.  I know nothing about Violins and have just Googled names for parts--I may not have mentioned something due to ignorance, so please contact me if you have additional questions.  Any defects not mentioned but visible in the pictures will be considered as "described".

I ship EXPRESS MAIL which is more expensive, but is the only way I can properly INSURE & Track.
