ANTIQUE HOPF 4/4 VIOLIN FOR RESTORATION OR PARTS W WOODEN CASE

Description

This very old violin was found at an estate with the wooden coffin style case shown in pictures. The violin body is in generally good condition with some separation in some places near the neck along seams. This looks like very old wood. I tried to take enough pictures to show condition. Please ask if you have any questions or need to see other pictures. I am not very violin literate so take that into account.  The case is in rough shape with breakage up at the small end. There is no bow. One thing I'll mention that I captured in a picture is some sort of brace or something on one side that you can see through the slot in the picture. Kind of looks like a wooden dowel but instead of round it has angular sides to it.
This violin has an overall length of 23.5 inches with a 14 inch body.
